I have owned this meter for over a year and use it on a regular basis professionally as my field meter when I travel for work. I don't normally write reviews but I feel I have a good deal of experience with this meter, and hopefully people will find this information useful.
The meter I received is quite accurate, measuring almost dead-on with my Fluke 117 in my testing as far as voltage/amperage/resistance/etc is concerned. As far as the O-scope...it's ok. Price was $155 when I purchased it, and for that I got a 2-channel o-scope with signal generator and a multimeter...for that price, compared to what you would pay for a fluke or other high end device in such a small package, they've got to cut some corners somewhere. In my opinion you get a whole lot for a low cost, and the user interface is good for such a small package.
As far as the practical side, there are some easy improvements that I would suggest the manufacturer and/or any comfortable DIY types out there to make:
- on/off button is slightly recessed but it is still very easy to hit accidentally, which is a fun feature for a meter to have when you're out in the field. nothing like pulling your meter out of your bag to find a dead battery. I would suggest a tooling modification to the housing mold to add a raised perimeter around the on/off switch to make it harder to hit on accident. A 3-D printed part or even a piece of ABS cut to shape and glued on would serve the same purpose.
- battery terminals are not robust at all, and they will permanently deform if you drop the meter, and I would bet more than one person has thrown theirs away thinking the unit is NFG after dropping it. I opened mine up, pulled the contacts out a bit and glued in some small springs behind them to help ensure a more robust connection
- battery life is pretty poor, even when just using it as a multimeter, but hey it has a giant bright screen and that power has to come from somewhere. Thankfully the meter is powered by a pair of 18650's so it was easy to replace them with some good quality higher capacity batteries.
All in all for the price this is a good, versatile meter, and extremely accurate on the multimeter side. The o-scope is great if you're a field tech and you just need to see the waveform, or generate one for that matter. People expecting the accuracy of this to be on par with their benchtop, name brand, $3000 scopes simply are not being realistic with their expectations. Go drop a few thousand dollars on a Fluke if that's the kind of accuracy you are looking for.
