This light is really bright, and gives a wide light field – so bright that it almost provides daylight levels of light. It is a great size – can fit in the palm of your hand, and not heavy. I use it for runs and walks around the neighbourhood. Would be great for hiking too. The chest strap, which is sold separately, is good for running. Recharging is quick and easy, and it hasn’t run out of battery in the couple of times I have used it. It feels very sturdy and well put together.

I was looking for options beyond just reflective clothing to be safe while running or biking in the night hours. I am a mountain biker as well as a gravel rider, and this option is cheaper than a lot of the wearable or mountable flashlights out there, and just as powerful. With a chest strap, it makes for a seamless experience, well providing safe illumination on the road or trail. I also like the fact that you can use it as an emergency light if needed. Very thoughtful inclusion.

Well made. Bright. Multiple intensity settings. This is designed to be clipped at chest level, perhaps worn on overalls, waders, or some kind of harness. Regardless of the quality, I think most people will find this to be of limited utility and would be better served by a proper headlamp.

Somehow, I thought I was ordering a headlamp. It's not a headlamp.

It's made to be used with a chest strap that isn't included here. But...you don't HAVE to use the strap.

I was able to clip it to a shirt pocket for use. If you have a pocket with the divider for a pen, it works a little better clipped there. I think it would be much better with the chest strap, even though it's not strictly necessary. Mine doesn't have it, but if you have a hard hat with the hole in front to clip things, you might be able to use it as a headlamp. If you're wearing a pack or harness with the 3/4" chest strap, this will probably clip on there OK. Harness strap might be OK, but it's a fairly short clip, and there's no lock on it. Though, you could probably punch a hole in the bottom of the clip and run a string or rubber band through it.

2 hour stated battery life seems to be close to accurate on highest setting. It seemed longer on lower settings. I was at work, and didn't really have a chance to try and time it out. That said, after reading the stated times, I wasn't shocked when it finally died.

Does a very good job of lighting the area around you. Whether you're trying to see what you're working on, or just walking, it's pretty good at letting you see what you need to. I normally use a headlamp. There were instances where having this light lower (shirt pocket level) was actually better. A couple of times, I used it in conjunction with a headlamp. This was also useful, as I was able to have light on two places simultaneously. This let me move a little faster since my vision didn't have to adjust as much.

Low mode was very good for things within a couple of feet, like doing paperwork. Red light I didn't have use for; but, it seems like it's good enough to illuminate a panel or map well enough for people next to you to also see.

It's also stable enough to set on a level surface and use as a small area light. I found this to be useful in areas where people might ignore safety cones because they couldn't see why they were there. Now they could see there was a reason, and went around my work area. It adjusts up and down a little bit, so it was pretty easy to make it stable on trailer fender or jersey barrier.

Not sure about the cost because it's not something I've looked at before. Seems like it should probably include the chest strap for the $72 it's being sold for at time of writing. While I don't actually NEED this product, it did provide some small safety benefits in my day to day work; and, so it will be added to my work gear.

I might be interested in an alternate version of this that a clip on the bottom of the light, as well as the back side. This has potential to be close to a 1 product for all/most needs.

The quality of the LED is top notch. It's bright, wide, and has multiple modes, including red light, which I really like for nighttime activities. I really like the idea of the form factor here, this light is intended to be worn on the body or used hands-free. Personally, I like that if I set it at waist height it won't blind anyone who looks at my face. It has a Carabiner that you can use to clip it onto a belt or backpack as well.

While I was thrilled with the quality of the LED, the quality of the build itself doesn't meet the same bar. The plastic doens't feel super durable, and at this price, that's worth a full star knock to me. The front panel housing sits inside of a back plate that allows it to tilt up and down, and also covers the charging port with a waterproof seal. The whole assembly is clearly incredibly well designed and thought out, but the low quality of the plastic used isn't necessarily confidence inspiring. It feels like a good drop will probably crack the plastic, and while I don't intend to drop it, things happen.

The belt clip suffers from the same fate as the plastic casing, it's thin and a little undersized, it probably won't clip fully around a single belt I own, it's only about 3/4 of an inch long. While it's functional, the level of quality doesn't feel like it matches the price tag.

Overall, this is a great light. The brightness levels vary well, and it gives you a really wide field of light that's diffuse, not blindingly bright at face level. Every feature here is well designed and applied, and it charges very quickly. The CREE LED is low on power usage, so the battery life is also outstanding. It gets 5 stars (and the benefit of the doubt on the cheaper feeling plastic) because it has performed well and I've worked around the short clip without any real trouble, but will update the review if the plastic cracks or breaks, I feel that's the one place a star could have been knocked off, it just doesn't feel like it matches the price tag.
