I have fragile nails, and often they get caught in wet hair, which if you know makes it worse. This little tool is gentle and firm enough to zig zag, move up and down in rows on your head to lather and not tangle long hair. However, I use special shampoos for hair growth and need to make sure the shampoo got everywhere, so when I first apply shampoo(s), I feel it which my fingers. Once its evenly distributed, I can go in with this shampoo brush. Your fingers are the best tools to massage and lather, but this makes it easier for injuries, burns, cuts or hang nail issues. Cleanup is easy.
CAUTION After first use: I must say, my scalp is massaged, feels clean but I can’t see the scalp itself and it feels tingly the day after.
But my forehead has marks like scratched, red splotches. Red marks the day after. I just woke up with them. I guess I overshot my scalp, washing my hair in sink upside down, and have red marks from the brush. I urge caution even if you think its silicone. I still hurt my forehead without realizing it or, I had an allergy to the brush. This means go easy on scalp to not cause follicle injury. It’s nothing that will scar; it looks like red splotches marks, which will fade not bruise. I was not aggressive at all.
I am allergic to latex, not silicone, unless the composition of the brush has latex in it, then I can see how I have all these marks on my forehead and I broke out in a rash. I will know if I use it again, and it happens again. Seems unlike mixing these two rubber compounds.
I recommend it if I do not react subsequently to it. It came with a pouch, and instruction or card I have not read yet.
Materials: this brush is about 3” in diameter, with soft tipped *silicone nibs but harder below the nibs. If they were too soft they would not work as well.
The hand part is ergonomic, lightweight plastic with gloss coat. Wipes dry easily. Fits in pouch for travel.
