I was initially a little skeptical about how well this unit would work, as I already have a cooling pad which doesn't do a lot to cool my laptop except elevate it (while flashing pretty lights). I was pleasantly surprised however, that this unit dropped the CPU and GPU temperature on my laptop by 15C. My laptop has a tendency to crash from the CPU overheating, I haven't had a single crash since using this unit - even when doubling the workload that would crash it before.
This particular model might be a little bulky for some users and the fan can be a little loud at max RPM (although significantly less loud than my internal fan used to be under the same duress), but if like me you just want maximum cooling this unit works a treat. You just have to make sure the sleeve sits flush against the laptop's vent - I used the large sleeve for mine and wedged the included foam base underneath it to achieve this. Laptop also needs to be on a flat surface - my old cooling pad now serves as a portable table with fancy lights while this Klim unit does all the actual cooling. Fitting the right size sleeve and positioning it properly improved its performance from -5C to -15C on CPU and GPU for me.
Overall very happy with this unit so far, seems like a good quality build for a low price.
